What does dental insurance typically cover?
What does dental insurance typically cover? Dental plans generally cover preventive care (cleanings, exams) at or near 100%, basic procedures (fillings, extractions) at a lower share, and major services (crowns, bridges, root canals) lower still. Exact coverage levels, waiting periods, and annual maximums vary by plan — we’ll walk through the specifics of any plan with you before you choose.
Is there a waiting period for dental coverage?
It depends on the plan and the service. Many plans cover preventive services (cleanings, exams) with no waiting period. Basic services (fillings, extractions) may have a short waiting period, and major services (crowns, surgery, dentures, bridges) often have a 12-month waiting period. We’ll show you the exact waiting periods for any plan you’re considering before you enroll.
Does vision insurance include glasses and contact lenses?
Yes, our vision plans typically cover annual eye exams, eyeglass frames, lenses, and contact lenses. Coverage amounts and frequency depend on your selected plan.
Can I use my own dentist or eye doctor?

How can I use the lump-sum benefit?
You’re free to use the funds for anything—medical bills, lost income, travel for treatment, or daily living expenses.
What does long-term disability insurance cover?
It provides income replacement if you’re unable to work due to a covered illness or injury for an extended period—typically beyond 90 days.
What types of life insurance do you offer?
We offer term life, whole life, and universal life insurance. Each serves different needs—from temporary coverage to lifelong protection with cash value growth.
How much life insurance do I need?
We recommend 5–10 times your annual income, but our licensed agents can help you assess your needs based on debts, income, dependents, and future goals.
Do policies require a medical exam?
Do policies require a medical exam? Many of our life insurance options don’t require a medical exam. Whether one is needed depends on the plan and the coverage amount — we’ll tell you upfront what your options require before you apply.
What health insurance plans do you offer?
We work with major national and regional carriers to offer individual, family, and group plans, Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage plans.
Can you help with Market Place Affordable Care Act (ACA) insurance plans?
Depending on your income and household size, subsidies can significantly lower what you pay each month for Marketplace coverage.
What if I have a pre-existing condition?
ACA health plans offered through Running Shius Agency do not exclude coverage for pre-existing conditions.
When can I enroll in Market Place health insurance?
For ACA health insurance, you can enroll during the Enrollment Period (typically November 1st through January 15th) or Any time of year if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to life events like losing job-based coverage, moving, marriage, divorce, having a baby or adopting, or other qualifying events.
When can I enroll in Medicare?
Do I need Medicare if I have employer coverage?
It depends. Some employer plans coordinate with Medicare. Special Enrollment Periods often apply, so it’s important to review your options before your 65th birthday.
What happens if I miss my enrollment period?
Late enrollment may result in penalties or gaps in coverage. Special Enrollment Periods may apply if you qualify due to certain life events.
